Epcot Center- social immersive media

[description]
Soarin' Que Games: Full body / computer vision-driven social immersive/interactive games for Disney's Epcot Center.
From April to September 2008 while working at PlayMotion Inc. I did art direction, interaction / experience / game design and user testing, project management, and asset wrangling and creation for a group of games now showing at Disney's Epcot Center Land Pavilion. The impetus for the games' creation was to give guests something to do while they waited in the long lines for Disney's very popular attraction, Soarin' Over California. The suite of games was created in a joint effort between PlayMotion (ATL), RealityCheck (LA) and Disney's own Imagineering (LA) to be installed in Epcot in Orlando Florida.
During full capacity, guests can wait up to 2.5 hours for a 5 minute ride. During these times, guests have a chance to play all five games, turning about 30-45 minutes of wait time into play time. It was an amazing experience to work with such a fantastic and talented group of people on such a large-scale and innovative project.
